  2. Remove the fish from the broth and let it cool slightly. Discard the skin and any bones. Carefully shred the fish meat into fine pieces and set aside. Strain and reserve 1 cup of the fish broth.

  3. In a clean pot or wide pan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, Bezar spice, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes soften down into a rich paste.

  5. Add the shredded fish and the remaining pierced dried black lemon to the pan. Pour in the reserved 1 cup of fish broth. Stir well to coat the fish in the spice mixture.

  6. Cover the pot and let it simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes so the fish absorbs all the flavors. Stir in the fresh cilantro just before turning off the heat. Serve hot over a bed of freshly cooked white rice.
