Overview

Affiliate marketing is a common way publishers earn a fee when a reader buys through a tracked link. FindEdition uses this model carefully and conditionally. Our goal is to keep recommendations useful while being transparent about money that may change hands after a click.

This disclosure applies across mobiles, autos, tools, recipes (for example, equipment mentions), entertainment-related merch or services where linked, and general articles that reference products. It should be read with our Advertising Policy and Editorial Policy.

We write this in plain language so readers can decide how much weight to give a shopping link. Transparency is part of trust; overstating that every link is always live would be less honest than saying affiliate links may appear when the feature is enabled.

When Affiliate Links May Appear

Site configuration includes an affiliate ads enablement setting that can default to false. When that capability is turned on, articles, comparison tables, product modules, or sidebars may render outbound links that contain partner tracking parameters.

When the capability is off, those modules may hide, degrade to non-tracked links, or simply not render. Because configuration can change, a page you visited last month might differ today. This policy describes the rules that apply whenever affiliate links are active.

Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. Citations to official manufacturer pages, studio pages, documentation, or news sources are often ordinary references without commission tracking.

How Commissions Work

Typical affiliate programs pay a publisher a percentage of a sale, a fixed bounty, or another contractual amount when a qualifying action occurs after a tracked click. Terms vary by merchant: cookie windows, excluded categories, and return clawbacks are controlled by the partner, not by FindEdition unilaterally.

We may not know at the moment you click whether a purchase will later qualify. We also may not control the retailer’s checkout experience, shipping, taxes, or customer service. Your purchase contract is with the seller.

FindEdition does not promise specific commission rates to readers, and we do not publish internal partner rate cards on this page. Those details are commercial arrangements that can change.

Editorial Independence

Affiliate compensation is not a fee for a positive review. We do not sell undisclosed praise. Scores follow our Rating Methodology for entertainment and related scored catalogs; shopping commissions are not inputs to combined rating averages.

Writers should choose links that help readers complete a relevant action — buying a tested accessory, comparing a phone, or finding a tool — not maximize commission at the expense of accuracy. If a better non-affiliate source exists for a factual claim, we still cite that source for the claim.

When a commercial relationship would reasonably matter to a reader’s trust in a recommendation, we disclose it on the page or via this sitewide disclosure plus in-article notices.

Where We Disclose

Disclosure can appear as: this dedicated policy linked from footers or article notes; a short sentence near shopping modules (“We may earn a commission…”); or labels on sponsored packages that also include affiliate tracking. Multiple layers are intentional — not everyone reads every footer.

Cost to Readers

Using an affiliate link usually does not increase the price you pay compared with visiting the merchant directly through an untracked URL — though merchants run their own promotions, and FindEdition cannot guarantee price parity across every channel, region, or hour.

You are never required to buy through our links to read FindEdition. Non-purchase uses of the site remain available subject to the Terms of Service.

Products, Specs & Categories

Mobiles & autos: Specifications and prices change by market and over time. Affiliate modules may deep-link to a retailer SKU that differs from the trim discussed in an article. Verify configuration, warranty, and local pricing before you buy.

Recipes: Equipment or ingredient links are optional conveniences. Allergy and food-safety decisions remain yours; a commission link does not certify a product as safe for your household.

Entertainment: FindEdition does not stream or download movies. Affiliate links will not unlock piracy. Any third-party watch options mentioned editorially can change without notice.

Jobs & freelance: Marketplace listings are not affiliate product cards by default. Be wary of third parties asking for upfront fees; report scams to support.

Limits & Non-Endorsements

An affiliate link is not a warranty, an exclusive endorsement, or a claim that we tested every SKU on a retailer’s page. Inventory errors, counterfeit risk on open marketplaces, and shipping delays are outside FindEdition’s control.

We may end partner relationships that harm readers. We may also choose non-affiliate citations even when a program exists. Partner status is not a quality seal. International shipping, customs duties, and regional catalog differences can make a “buy” button point to a product that is unavailable where you live — always confirm on the merchant’s checkout page before relying on a FindEdition deep link.

If a comparison table ranks products for editorial reasons, the ranking criteria belong to the article — not to whichever merchant happens to pay a higher commission that week. When we cannot support an honest comparison without a tracked link, we would rather omit the link than distort the conclusion.

Creator or contributor pages that mention products they personally sell should say so. Community members promoting their own goods in comments should likewise disclose the relationship under our Community Guidelines.
