• The film is set hundreds of years after Caesar's death — far further in the future than any previous entry in the reboot series.
• Owen Teague performed as Noa entirely via performance capture technology — a tradition of the reboot series first established by Andy Serkis as Caesar in 2011.
• Principal photography took place entirely in Sydney, Australia from October 2022 to February 2023.
• Director Wes Ball previously helmed the entire Maze Runner trilogy (2014–2018) — this was his first major studio franchise outside that series.
• Josh Friedman, who wrote the screenplay, also wrote War of the Worlds (2005) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022).
• A sequel was officially confirmed in October 2024 by 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell, targeting a 2027 theatrical release with Wes Ball returning.
• It received an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects and won the Annie Award for Best Character Animation in a Live Action Production at the 2025 ceremonies.
